By: Richie Murray – USAC Media
Gas City, Indiana (July 25, 2021)………Stevie Sussex maintains his lead of the ProSource Passing Master standings for the 34th annual NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week by AMSOIL series entering Monday night's third round of the series at Gas City I-69 Speedway.
At the conclusion of Indiana Sprint Week, the driver who advances the most total positions from their starting spots in all prelim and feature events throughout the entirety of ISW will receive $500 as the ProSource Passing Master. Provisional starters each night are ineligible to receive feature points toward the passing master total.
Sussex (Mesa, Ariz.) passed 24 cars on night one of ISW at Kokomo on Saturday, which is still the highwater mark for all 62 drivers who’ve competed thus far. Nick Bilbee (Indianapolis, Ind.) is second after he advanced a total of 17 positions on Sunday at Lawrenceburg.
Third overall is Chase Jones (Greenwood, Ind.), who is the driver with the most positions advanced who has also passed cars on both nights of ISW at Kokomo and Lawrenceburg. Justin Grant (Ione, Calif.) is fourth at 14 while Shane Cottle (Kansas, Ill.) is fifth at 13.
Robert Ballou (Rocklin, Calif.) won the inaugural Indiana Sprint Week ProSource Passing Master award in 2020.
Gas City’s NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week by AMSOIL event features the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship vying for the $6,000 winner’s share along with the 600cc Non-Wing Micro Sprints.
On Monday at Gas City, pits open at 3pm ET, front gates open at 5pm, drivers meeting at 6pm with cars on track at 6:30pm and qualifying/racing immediately following.
General admission tickets are $30, kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Wristbands and ticket stubs from last Friday’s rain out at Gas City are good for use at Gas City on Monday.
Every lap of all seven USAC NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week by AMSOIL races will be aired live on FloRacing at https://bit.ly/2ZpafUr.
