Kokomo, Indiana (June 12, 2021)………The race for the USAC Indiana Midget Week championship isn’t the only points battle on the line going into the Saturday, June 12, USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget event at Kokomo Speedway.
ProSource has announced a $500 Passing Master bonus going to the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget driver who advances the most total positions from his or her feature starting spot throughout the entirety of Indiana Midget Week June 3-12. Passing Master points are accumulated via heat races, last chance races and feature events each night of IMW.
Entering the event, Tanner Thorson (Minden, Nev.) leads all drivers with 42 positions advanced throughout the first seven races of IMW. The 2016 USAC National Midget champion padded his total with 17 more positions advanced in Friday night’s round at Gas City, passing five in the semi and 12 more in the feature after charging from 20th to 8th.
Thorson holds a three-point advantage over both Logan Seavey (Sutter, Calif.) and Hayden Williams (Auckland, N.Z.) at 39 apiece. Thomas Meseraull (San Jose, Calif.) is fourth with 37 while Emerson Axsom (Franklin, Ind.) and Brian Carber (Lewisberry, Pa.) each have passed 36 cars.
Kyle Larson captured the inaugural ProSource Indiana Midget Week Passing Master Award in 2020.
Saturday’s Indiana Midget Week round at Kokomo Speedway will feature the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship and the Kokomo Sprint Cars.
You can save $5 with purchase of advance tickets at www.TracPass.com. Tickets and pit passes will also be sold at the gate where general admission tickets are $30, kids aged 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $35.
Pits open at 3pm EDT with grandstands opening at 3pm, drivers meeting at 6pm and hot laps at 6:30pm.
