USAC REGIONAL RACING PREVIEW: AUG. 14-15, 2020
MIDWEST REGIONAL MIDGETS & MIDWEST THUNDER SPEED2 MIDGETS
It’s a two-night, doubleheader weekend for both the USAC Midwest Regional Midgets and the Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midgets at Paragon (Ind.) Speedway on Friday, Aug. 14 and at Circus City Speedway in Peru, Ind. on Saturday, Aug. 15.
Both events will utilize an open format, allowing both current National and SpeeD2 engines. The event will pay points toward the USAC Midwest Regional Midget standings and a champion will be crowned at the conclusion of the season. Furthermore, USAC SpeeD2 licensed competitors will be eligible for bonuses and will earn points toward the USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget Championship.
Emerson Axsom (Franklin, Ind.) won the Midwest Regional Midget opener in July at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. and leads the series standings. Adam Taylor (Dwight, Ill.), meanwhile, holds a slim seven-point lead over Jacob Denney (Galloway, Ohio). Denney won last Friday at Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway. Denney’s Team Taylor teammate Aaron Leffel (Springfield, Ohio) captured the victory last Saturday at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway.
On Friday at Paragon, the pits open at 4pm ET, front gates at 5pm, with racing starting at 7:30pm. General admission tickets are $20 and, for kids age 10 and under, tickets are free. Pit passes are $30 apiece and while kids age 10 and under are $15. Sprint Cars, Super Stocks, Bombers and Hornets are also in action.
Saturday at Circus City Speedway, joining the Midgets will be the NOW600 Non-Wing Junior Sprints, Non-Wing Restricted 600's, Non-Wing A-Class, and Non-Wing Outlaw 600's. Pits open at 2pm ET, hot laps at 6pm and racing at 7pm. Adult general admission tickets are $12 with children age 12 and under free. Pit passes are $25 each with youth prices set at $10 for the pits.

RAPID TIRE EAST COAST SPRINT CARS
USAC’s Rapid Tire East Coast Sprint Cars debut at one of the most famed tracks in all the land this Friday night, August 14, at Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway.
Point leader Steven Drevicki (Reading, Pa.) finished 5th and 2nd at the series’ two most recent rounds last weekend at New Egypt (N.J.) Speedway and Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway, respectively. He’s won twice this year in the opening two rounds while Ryan Watt (Boyertown, Pa.), Mark Bitner (Trenton, N.J.) and Brady Bacon (Broken Arrow, Okla.) have won recent bouts on the schedule.
Williams Grove Speedway will be in action this Friday, August 14 at 7:30 pm with a rare three-division program of pure sprint car racing for
Friday, adult general admission tickets are set at $16 with youth ages 13–20 admitted for $10. Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted for free at Williams Grove Speedway. The Lawrence Chevrolet 410 Sprints and HJ Towing and Recovery 358 Sprints will join the USAC East Coast series for the event. Front gates open at 5:30pm ET with racing slated to start at 7:30pm.

WHOLESALE BATTERIES MIDWEST WINGLESS RACING ASSOCAITION SPRINT CARS
A third visit of the season for the Wholesale Batteries Midwest Wingless Racing Association Sprint Cars at Winston, Missouri’s I-35 Speedway are on the agenda this Saturday night, August 15.
Kory Schudy (Springfield, Mo.) won there in June while Wyatt Burks (Topeka, Kans.) captured victory there in July. They reside fourth and fifth in the standings coming in, but the points are led by Don Droud Jr. (Lincoln, Neb.) who finished third and fourth in both his I-35 starts this year.
Saturday at I-35, Hobby Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Dirt Late Models, Sport Compact, USRA B-Mods, USRA Modifieds and USRA Stock Cars are also on the card. Pits open at 4:30pm ET, grandstands open at 5pm, driver's meeting at 6pm, hot laps at 6:30pm and racing at 7pm.

USAC DMA SPEED2 MIDGETS
The USAC DMA SpeeD2 Midgets make their lone venture outside of the state of Vermont this Friday, Aug. 14 when the series makes its annual stop at Malta, New York’s Albany-Saratoga Speedway.
Seth Carlson (Stafford, Conn.) just last week joined the ranks of two-time winners with the series as he captured the victory at Vermont’s Bear Ridge Speedway. He leads the points by 40 points entering Friday’s race.
Defending series champ Will Hull (Plainfield, Vt.) has also won twice in 2020 and was a victor in 2019 at Albany-Saratoga. He possesses the fifth position in the standings coming in.
No spectators are allowed at the event. Pits open at 4pm ET and racing begins at 7pm. Pit passes are $30 for members, $35 for non-members and $20 for children age 10 and under. Watch it live via pay-per-view on www.DirtTrackDigest.TV.

ENGLER IMRA SPEED2 MIDGETS
For the fourth time in 2020, the IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets invade Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa on Friday night, August 14.
Current point leader and two-time defending series champ Andy Baugh (Mason City, Ill.) won the season opener there in May while Bryan Stanfill (Brea, Calif.) captured a July victory and Brent Burrows (Lewistown, Ill.) made victory lane at Lee County his home sweet home at the beginning of August.
Friday at Lee County, front gates open at 5:30pm ET with hot laps at 7pm and racing to follow. 305 Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods and IMCA Sport Compacts are also on the docket. Grandstand tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors age 60-plus, $5 for students age 11-17, $5 for veterans and free for kids 10 and under. Pit passes are $30 for adults, $20 for children ages 7-13, $10 for kids ages 4-6 and $5 for ages 3 and under.
