USAC NOS ENERGY DRINK MIDGET NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
Formats may be altered from base formats listed here at the discretion of the chief steward.
HOT LAPS:
All cars draw for heat race position and hot lap with their heat race. Two heat races will hot lap together (Heats 1-2, Heats 3-4, Heats 5-6, etc.)
HEAT RACES:
10 laps. Lineups are determined by random draw. Points are accumulated by finishing position and total number of positions gained or lost. (See chart below to calculate points). The top-40 in overall points from the heats will run qualifying races. The rest of the field is relegated to the C-Main.
C-MAINS:
(10 laps, top-4 transfer) All cars 41st on back in points will run the C-Main and are lined up by points earned in heat races. If 2 C-Mains are needed, odd position cars go to first C-Main and even position cars go to second C-Main. 4 overall cars will transfer from C-Mains to the back of B-Mains (Top 2 from each C-Main if there are 2).
QUALIFYING RACES:
(12 laps, top-16 in total points transfer to feature) 40 cars make the qualifying races, which are 12 laps and award more finish/passing points. The four qualifying races are inverted by 6, so the top point-earner from the heat races starts 6th. Total points from heat races and qualifying races are added together to set B-Main and feature lineups. The top-16 overall will start straight-up in the first 8 rows of the feature. 17-40 in points are assigned to the B-Main event(s).
