BACON WINS AT HANFORD; GARDNER FLIPS, COMES BACK TO TAKE CALIFORNIA SPRINT WEEK TITLE!
Hanford, CA……..Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Okla. won Saturday’s 30-lap AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint race at Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds, but the fireworks were erupting long before the checkered flag! In one of the more spectacular battles in All Coast Construction California Sprint Week history, Damion Gardner outpointed Thomas Meseraull by 23 to win the title, but the script was straight out of Hollywood! Gardner started deep in the field and flipped on the fourth lap of the race. Able to fix the car, he rejoined the fray, pitted again later, and eventually finished 12th. Fortunately, that was enough to keep Meseraull at bay, though, as Thomas was involved in a spin on lap 23 while running fourth, was unable to resume, and finished 14th. Bacon led all 30 laps in the Keith Ford Sun Valley AG Transport/Walker Filtration Systems Triple X/Claxton Mopar. Ryan Bernal took second ahead of Richard Vander Weerd, Brody Roa and Jace Vander Weerd.
