CRA “OFF” UNTIL PERRIS OVAL NATIONALS IN NOVEMBER;
THE DEMON ADDS THE “GLENN HOWARD CLASSIC”
The fastest sprint car driver in history now has two months to rest on his AMSOIL USAC/CRA point lead as the series prepares for its annual season-ending November races in conjunction with the National series.
Damion Gardner of Concord, Calif., who last week established a remarkable 211-mph record for Sprint cars on the Bonneville (Utah) Salt Flats, scored his sixth victory in eight starts at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway this year, grabbing Saturday night’s 30-lap “Glenn Howard Classic.”
Gardner passed Mike Spencer on lap 17 and led the rest of the way in his Scott Sales Company Spike/J & D to beat R.J. Johnson, Spencer, Matt Mitchell and Austin Williams.
The series will square off against the National series regulars November 7-8 at Perris and November 14-15 at Peoria, Ariz.
