PIERSON, CHAMPAGNE DUEL FOR DMA LEAD SATURDAY

Point leaders Adam Pierson and Jeff Champagne are separated by only two points entering this Saturday’s USAC DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt.

Pierson won the “double points” opener May 3 and now trails Joe Krawiec by just one win for the all-time series lead. Krawiec has seven and Pierson six.

Champagne will be seeking his third series triumph Saturday after winning once last year and once in 2012.

Former champion Krawiec is fourth in the current points, 18 behind the lead entering Saturday’s fray.
