JOSH BURTON, 22

Sprint Car competitor Josh Burton from Bloomington, Indiana was fatally injured in a non-sanctioned event Friday night at Bloomington Speedway. The 22-year old was in his third year competing aboard a Sprint Car and had already become a feature winner on the local scene. Burton made two feature starts with USAC in 2012, which included his best career finish of 9th at his hometown track last May. Burton had already competed in two events so far this season, including a 19th-place showing at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana. USAC extends its deepest sympathies to the Burton family and to all of Josh's many friends and associates.
