MICHIGAN MIDGET RACING ASSOCIATION JOINS USAC FAMILY
USAC’s family of Mopar .25 Midget clubs welcomes its newest member January 1. The Michigan Midget Racing Association, headquartered in Clarkston, Mich., will officially become USAC’s newest club in the new year.
The club facility is located at the Oakland County Sportsmans Club and includes drivers from 4-1/2 to 16 years in age. Their racing schedule spans April to October.
Michigan has produced many top USAC Mopar .25 Midget pilots, including past Brickyard Champions Logan Wennesheimer of Waterford, Cannon Konzer of Holly and Dean Creach of Clawson, plus 2011 and 2012 National Champions Carson Hocevar of Portage and Wil Raber of Allegan.
The 2012 USAC “Generation Next” Tour included a Michigan stop among its 15 venues, with the Mopar .25 Midgets competing at Kalamazoo.
“We are obviously looking forward to our new association with MMRA in 2013,” says USAC Mopar .25 Midget Director Kyle McCain. “MMRA is excited about becoming part of USAC’s storied tradition in the years ahead.”
