BURTON, MILLER “DOUBLE UP;” BRASELTON UP NEXT
The USAC Mopar .25 Midget “Generation Next” tour continues this weekend at Braselton, Ga. as Round 3 – the “Peach State Championship” - unfolds at Metro Atlanta.
The 16-round slate of events visited the Lone Star Quarter Midget Club in San Antonio, Texas last weekend for the “Lone Star Nationals” and three driversemerged with multiple victories.
Allegan, Mich. driver Wil Raber posted wins in Heavy Honda, Heavy AA and Unrestricted Animal classes while piloting his Scott's Racing Nervo Chassis. North Carolina drivers Harrison Burton (Huntersville) and Mark Miller (Mooresville) recorded two wins apiece aboard their Stanley chassis. Burton was the winner in Light 160 and Light World Formula and Miller took the trophies in Heavy 160 and Heavy World Formula.
Drivers from California, Florida, Texas, Arizona and Minnesota also found victory lane in San Antonio. The Texas driver was Drew Simenthal, who won in Senior Animal. Famous Rhodes of San Jose, Calif. won the Junior Honda trophy and Portage, Mich. driver Carson Hocevar was the Heavy Honda winner. Isaak Solochek of Lutz, Fla. took home the Junior Animal hardware. Logan Heath of Hereford, Ariz. won the Light Mod title and Collin Olson of Hugo, Minn. was the winner in Heavy Mod. Richie Reif was the Red Rookie winner for the second straight week.
"We look forward to visiting Metro Atlanta after a one year hiatus," states USAC Director James Spink. "The Metro Atlanta club has a first class facility and we anticipate a great turnout of east coast families for Rd #1 of Mid Atlantic Championship."
Activity at the Metro Atlanta facility this weekend starts with practice from 5-8 pm Friday. Saturday’s events include practice, heats, lower mains with A mains on Sunday.
