LEARY SCORES USAC CRA FINALE AT PERRIS, ROA TAKES TITLE

Perris, California (November 11, 2023)………C.J. Leary closed out his year in winning fashion on Saturday night by scoring the AMSOIL USAC CRA Sprint Car season finale at California’s Perris Auto Speedway.

Leary (Greenfield, Ind.) charged to the win from his seventh starting spot in the main event, taking the lead from Brody Roa on lap 18 of the 30-lap tilt before pacing the final 13 laps to earn the victory in his Michael Motorsports No. 77m.

For Leary, it was his second career USAC CRA victory at Perris after also grabbing a win at the half-mile dirt oval back in 2019.

Pole sitter Roa (Garden Grove, Calif.) finished as the runner-up behind Leary, but took consolation by capturing his first career USAC CRA Sprint Car driving championship in his first season as the driver for the Tom & Christy Dunkel/BR Motorsports team.

Tommy Malcolm (Corona, Calif.) took third in the Perris finale en route to a career best second place finish in the USAC CRA standings.

Matt Mitchell (Yorba Linda, Calif.) made a valiant effort in his drive from the 22nd starting position to finish fourth, which earned him hard charger honors in memory of Jim and Chet Gardner.

Charles Davis Jr. (Buckeye, Ariz.), meanwhile, raced to a solid fifth place result to round out the top-five in the final tally.
