USAC GOES INDOORS SEPT. 1 FOR REGIONAL MIDGETS IN Du QUOIN
Du Quoin, Illinois (August 31, 2021)………USAC Midwest Regional Midget racing goes indoors this Wednesday night, September 1, for a $3,000-to-win, $300-to-start event at the Southern Illinois Center in Du Quoin.
The event is a non-points, special event for the USAC Midwest Regional Midgets. Chett Gehrke (Broken Arrow, Okla.) leads the series standings and swept both USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget events at the Southern Illinois Center back in February of this year.
Bryan Stanfill (Bakersfield, Calif.), who has won twice with the USAC Midwest Regional Midgets this year at Bloomington, Ind. and Peru, Ind., is second in the standings, just ahead of Chance Crum (Snohomish, Wash.), who’s won four of the last five series events, including the most recent on Aug. 28 at Kokomo, Ind.
Micro Sprints of the Hyper Non-Wing, Outlaws Plus and Restrictors variety will also be on hand. Pits open at 3pm Central with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:30.
Adult grandstand tickets are $25 with pit passes $35 each for a full night of racing at the “Mini Magic Mile.”
NASCAR veterans and popular short track racing heroes Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will be on hand to sign autographs.
