TOP-3 SEPARATED BY 3 IN USAC INDIANA MIDGET WEEK POINTS HEADED TO GAS CITY
By: Richie Murray – USAC Media
Gas City, Indiana (June 11, 2021)………One of the closest USAC Indiana Midget Week championship races of all-time has the top-three of Daison Pursley, Chris Windom and Buddy Kofoid separated by a mere three points entering the final two races of the eight-race mini-series on Friday, June 11, at Gas City and Saturday, June 12, at Kokomo.
Pursley (Locust Grove, Okla.) leads the USAC IMW standings by a single point over Windom (Canton, Ill.). Oddly enough, neither of the two have won a feature throughout the first six races of IMW this past week. Pursley is the only driver to finish inside the top-ten of all six races while Windom possesses two 2nd place finishes and a 3rd.
Kofoid (Penngrove, Calif.) retook the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget point lead with a 4th Thursday night at Lincoln Park. He’s currently third in the IMW tally, three points out of the lead behind Pursley.
Lawrenceburg winner Logan Seavey (Sutter, Calif.) is fourth in the IMW points, just 11 behind the leader. Corey Day (Clovis, Calif.), a first-time USAC winner at Circle City, is seventh in the standings, while Paragon winner Thomas Meseraull (San Jose, Calif.) is ninth; Lincoln Park victor Tanner Thorson (Minden, Nev.) is tenth; and Tri-State’s first-time USAC Midget winner, Kyle Cummins (Princeton, Ind.), is 12th.
Friday’s Indiana Midget Week round at Gas City I-69 Speedway will feature the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship and the Gas City Sprint Cars.
You can save $5 with purchase of advance tickets at www.TracPass.com. Tickets and pit passes will also be sold at the gate where general admission tickets are $30, kids aged 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $35.
