GRANT LEADS ISW BY 8 POINTS ENTERING TRI-STATE FINALE
Haubstadt, Indiana (August 2, 2020)………Nine drivers remain mathematically eligible to win the 2020 NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week championship entering Sunday’s finale at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. on August 2.
USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car point leader and Terre Haute winner Justin Grant (Ione, Calif.) leads the standings with 300 points, up by eight over Chase Stockon (Fort Branch, Ind.) and Brady Bacon (Broken Arrow, Okla.), who are locked up at 292. Kokomo and Lawrenceburg winner C.J. Leary (Greenfield, Ind.) is fourth (-15) and Chris Windom is fifth (-35).
Gas City opening night winner Logan Seavey (Sutter, Calif.) is sixth (-40), Kyle Cummins (Princeton, Ind.) is 7th (-52), Carson Short (Marion, Ill.) is 8th (-65) and Shane Cottle (Kansas, Ill.) (-80).
Eighty-four (84) maximum points are available at Tri-State. Points are awarded to the top-six fastest overall qualifiers (6-5-4-3-2-1). Heat race points are awarded to the top-four transfers (8-7-6-5). Semi-feature points are awarded to the top-six transfers (4-3-2-1-1-1).
Feature points are awarded to all contestants, starting at 70 for the winner and decreasing by three for each position throughout the top-ten (43 for 10th). For positions 11th through 20th, the points start at 41 and decrease by two for each position through 20th (23rd for 20th). Positions 21st through the balance of the field receive 23 points. However, the exception are provisional starters who will receive 10 points for the feature and will forfeit any heat race or semi-feature points. All others who did not compete in the feature will receive 10 points as well.
Sunday at Tri-State, pits open at 3pm CT, front gates open to all spectators at 3pm and hot laps begin at 5:15pm with qualifying and racing to immediately follow.
Tickets are available for Tri-State at www.usactickets.com. Tickets will also be available at the gates on raceday. Adult general admission tickets for Tri-State are $25 while kids age 13-18 are $20 and children 12 & under are free. Pit passes are $30 apiece.
