PARALLAX TABS D’ALESSIO TO PURSUE 2020 USAC SPRINT ROOKIE HONORS
Speedway, Indiana (January 13, 2020)………It was a chance meeting in December between team owner Joe Brandon and driver Anthony D’Alessio that set forth in motion USAC’s newest combination to tackle the 2020 AMSOIL National Sprint Car season.
Parallax Group Inc. has formed Parallax Motorsports as a division of the company to solely concentrate on its racing interests, which will have the 19-year-old Apollo Beach, Fla. driver in the seat of the D’Alessio/Parallax No. 01 DRC/Claxton Mopar in a united effort to chase after USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Rookie of the Year honors.
“Meeting Anthony was a primary reason my wife Shelly and I decided to move forward in the sport,” Brandon, of Parallax Motorsports, revealed. “We have put together a solid team to run all of the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car events in 2020 and we are excited, and will be ready, to participate in the 2020 Winter Dirt Games XI in Ocala, Fla. in Anthony's backyard.”
D’Alessio relocated from his native Florida to Indiana in 2018 to pursue his dream of becoming a professional race car driver. In preparation, D’Alessio competed at Indiana Sprint Week in 2019, making one USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car feature start at Kokomo where he won his heat race and finished 20th.
Additionally, D’Alessio competed at many local Indiana tracks in his first full year in a non-wing sprint car a year ago after previously earning 2016 Top Gun Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year and 2017 Rookie of the Year honors with the Southern Shootout Sprint Car Series in the Sunshine State.
Brandon feels D’Alessio is the complete package on and off the racetrack and is eager to begin pursuing their goal starting February 13-14-15 at Bubba Raceway Park.
“We feel Anthony has not only the racing talent, but the overall package that Parallax Motorsports is interested in promoting,” team owner Joe Brandon said. “He is a genuinely nice young man and wise beyond his years.”
“Of course, our goal is to win every race we enter,” Brandon continued. “But our focus will be on winning the Rookie of the Year award with Anthony. We look forward to a long-lasting and successful relationship with Anthony, his family and all of his supporters and fans.”
The 2020 season openers for the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship and the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship begin in February at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla. Midgets hit the track for practice on Feb. 6 with two full nights of racing to follow on Feb. 7-8. The sprints take their turn the following week with practice on Feb. 12 and three-straight nights of full racing programs on Feb. 13-14-15.
