USAC WESTERN STATES MIDGET SCHEDULE FOR 2020 RELEASED
Speedway, Indiana (December 24, 2019)………Following a close championship battle that went down to the wire in 2019, the USAC Western States Midgets begin their 39th year in 2020.
The season opener takes the series to California’s Bakersfield Speedway on March 21, followed by the first of two trips to Merced (Calif.) Speedway on April 11 and May 30.
California’s Ventura Raceway has been a staple of the Western States Midget scene since 1986, and this year is no exception with three series points races taking place at the 1/5-mile bullring on May 2, September 19 and October 24.
Western States Midgets make their debut at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, Calif. on May 29 in a doubleheader weekend which sees the series head to Merced the following night on May 30.
California’s Petaluma Speedway greets the series twice, first on June 6 and again on July 18. Meanwhile, two points-paying visits to Placerville (Calif.) Speedway are on the docket for July 11 and October 10.
The final seven events of the season will be non-points races for the 2020 USAC Western States Midget tour but will all pay points toward the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship. The seven-race Fall swing begins with the 53rd Western World Championships at Arizona Speedway in San Tan Valley on November 13-14.
The series then goes back to Cali for the final five starting at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway on November 17, followed by a newly expanded three consecutive nights at Placerville Speedway on November 19-20-21 for the second annual Hangtown 100.
The season finishes out with the season finale, the 80th installment on the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ventura Raceway on Thanksgiving night, November 26.
