USAC MIDGET SPECIAL EVENT JOINS WoO AT PLACERVILLE SEPT. 11
Placerville, California (August 31, 2019)………The USAC Western States Midget Championship presented by Elk Grove Ford will be competing in a non-points $1,500-to-win feature event on Wednesday, September 11, at California’s Placerville Speedway as part of the 49er Gold Rush Classic presented by Riebes NAPA Auto Parts, which also features the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars.
The special event is a non-points special event for the USAC Western States Midgets, which will bring the top midget racers on the West Coast to Placerville under race director Doug Lockwood for this huge mid-week special.
Grandstand gates open at 3 p.m. Pacific time with Hot Laps at 5 p.m. and racing scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Get tickets and more information.

The Sept. 11 event is a prelude to the massive, inaugural Elk Grove Ford “Hangtown 100” at Placerville on November 19-20, the richest two-day USAC Midget event in the 64-year history of the club. The payout features a $100,000-plus purse, with the final night A-Main paying $20,000 to win and $1,000 to start the 100-lap feature for USAC’s NOS Energy Drink National Midgets and the USAC Western States Midgets.
Robert Dalby (Anaheim, Calif.) and Austin Liggett (Tracy, Calif.) are the winningest drivers on the Western States Midget tour this season with two wins apiece. As a result, both reside first and second in the series standings, respectively. Additional winners this season include Ben Worth (Coalinga, Calif.), Robby Josett (Santa Clarita, Calif.) and Maria Cofer (Macdoel, Calif.).
