Lebanon, Indiana (December 5, 2018)………Relationships often rekindle after spending time apart. The same goes in racing.
After spending a year apart, Chad Boespflug and Eberhardt Zirzow Racing (EZR) Sprint Car team have reunited for the 2019 season and Boespflug, of Hanford, California, will pilot the EZR #98E.
"I'm excited to race with EZR this season, driver Chad Boespflug said. “Joining efforts with them again as in 2016 really takes a lot of burden off my shoulders. Things went sour in 2017 and I am very fortunate to be back with them this year. We are still searching to find a crew chief to complete our team for the 2019 season.”
"It's great to be back with Chad,” Fred Zirzow, co-owner of EZR said. “We had an incredible year in 2016 with some major wins. In 2017, that same success was hard to find, so we went our separate ways. This past year brought change for EZR with Kyle Cummins as our driver, with an up and down year. We were forced to part ways at the end of the season due to Kyle's work schedule.”
“Chuck Eberhardt, co-owner of EZR, and I would like to thank Kyle and his family for a fun year. We felt there was no better time to team back up with Chad than now. We at EZR are extremely happy to be able to go back home to where we felt everything worked as one before. We have learned from our time apart, but feel we benefit each other and are confident we can once again find the chemistry that leads to results on the track. Our goal is to race for wins and not focus on points. We look forward to starting fresh in Florida."
EZR and Boespflug will begin the 2019 Season at the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car openers at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla. for “Winter Dirt Games X” on February 14-15-16. Following their trip south, EZR plans to compete in USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car events and select other races this year.
