USAC SPRINT CHAMP BACON WINS 2016 PROSOURCE FAST TIME CHALLENGE
Brady Bacon’s successful 2016 USAC season merits not only the accolades of a job well done, but also reaps the rewards that go along with such accomplishments.
The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native was recently crowned as the winner of the ProSource Fast Time Challenge, rewards the driver who captured the most quick times in qualifications throughout USAC’s three National divisions – Silver Crown, Sprint and Midget – during the 2016 season.
Bacon was that man in 2016 as he recorded the fastest lap in time trials on eight different occasions this year, including being the only individual to set fast time in all three USAC National divisions.
Along the way to his $3300 reward courtesy of ProSource, Bacon recorded four fast qualifying times in a midget (Putnamville, Ind., Fairbury, Neb., Beloit, Kans. and Ventura, Calif.), three in a sprint car (Montpelier, Ind., Terre Haute, Ind. and Gas City, Ind.) and one in the Silver Crown series in the “Hoosier Hundred” at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
In the process, Bacon established a pair of new track records for the sprint car division at Montpelier and for midgets in Fairbury, Neb.
The ProSource honors go to Bacon after the 26-year-old, two-time USAC National champion had already captured this year’s AMSOIL National Sprint Car title, the Indiana Sprint Week championship and the Mike Curb Super License for earning the most combined points of any driver in USAC’s three national divisions.
