CRA POINTS BATTLE HEATS UP SATURDAY AT THE PAS

Few records have eluded Damion Gardner in his AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint car career, but he could set another one Saturday when the series returns to Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

Nobody since the series debuted in 2004 has begun a series with four consecutive victories. Gardner is undefeated so far in 2014 and will try for his fourth straight win Saturday after winning twice at Perris and once at Peoria, Ariz.

Gardner leads the all-time Perris USAC/CRA winners’ list with 28, compared to Mike Spencer’s 25. Spencer is third in the standings, 44 behind Gardner, who leads Nic Faas by 31.
