WESTERN .25 DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP JUNE 20 AT LVMS
Drivers and entrants in USAC’s .25 Midget Series will compete June 20 in the Inaugural Western District Championship at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway. The track located adjacent to the LVMS Bullring serves as the Las Vegas Quarter Midget Racing facility and all feature events will take place on Saturday.
Members of the Las Vegas track and USAC’s Orange Show Quarter Midget Racing Association are expected to be joined by participants from around the southwest for this signature event, which opens with a Friday practice period. Competition is limited to Saturday only, with Western District Championship champions presented their distinctive USAC medallions during post-race victory lane ceremonies to be held at the “Bullring.”
In addition, results of the events at LVMS will be transmitted to a worldwide audience via the internet on USAC’s website, www.usacracing.com. Families competing in this event will also receive complimentary admission tickets to that night’s USAC Ford Focus race at the Bullring.
“Coming off successful Eastern and Midwest District Championships at Tampa, Fla. and Toledo, Ohio, we are all looking forward to this inaugural event with anticipation and excitement,” says USAC Developmental Series Director James Spink. “An inaugural event is always something special and one which will leave lasting memories for all involved. Coupling this with the Ford Focus race is a no-brainer and should make for a fun weekend for everyone.”
Participants in the June 20 program will also be eligible to compete in the USAC .25 Midget Nationals, slated for July 8-11 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
