“GENERATION NEXT” ROUND 3 AT SALISBURY APRIL 8-10
The largest car count in Music City Quarter Midget history invaded the MCQMRA home track near Nashville, Tenn. last weekend for round two of the 2k11 USAC “Generation Next” Mopar .25 Midget tour and drivers from eight states walked off with custom Copley Guitars emblematic of their class victories.
The biggest winner was Stow, Ohio’s Frankie Nervo, who claimed victories in the Light 160, Light AA and Light World Formula classes. Bryant Dawson of Phoenix, Ariz. also “doubled up,” winning the Mod and Heavy AA titles.
Other Nashville victors were North Carolina drivers Ryan Israel of Concord (Junior Honda), Jared Irvan of Midland (Senior Honda) and Mark Miller of Mooresville (Heavy World Formula), Florida pilots Isaak Solochek of Lutz (Junior Animal) and Michael Atwell of Naples (Senior Animal), Jayme Dickerson of Dawsonville, Ga. (Heavy Honda), Ross Rankine of Willard, Ohio (Unrestricted Animal), Austin Nigh of Greenfield, Ind. (Junior Stock) and Cason Konzer of Holly, Mich. (Heavy 160). Minnesota driver Collin Olson won the B Class title.
Tre Ashworth and Preston Buckley were the top Rookies at Nashville.
Round three of the 2k11 “Generation Next” Mopar .25 Midget tour is slated April 8-10 at the home of the North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA) in Salisbury, N.C. The event serves as a “qualifier” for the upcoming “Battle at the Brickyard” at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway July 5-9.
All Mopar .25 Midget drivers will be admitted free to USAC’s April 8 Ford Focus races at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. Parents will be admitted for $5.00 each.
