The United States Auto Club's new .25 Midget Series continues to expand with today's announcement of a new track being constructed in the infield at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif.

A new club is being formed which will compete on a 1/20-mile dirt oval, the first USAC .25 Midget club slated for action on dirt in 2009.

Kings Speedway has a storied history of USAC-sanctioned events and in 2009 will host events in the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series, the Western Midget Series and the California Dirt Ford Focus Series. The facility will also include a 1/5-mile oval, in addition to the 1/20-mile oval and the existing 3/8-mile.

"USAC has a great history of racing in the Golden State and adding this new facility at Hanford to our schedule extends that tradition," says USAC Development Racing Series Director James Spink. "We're very excited about this new venue and look forward to working with race organizer Frank Dias in making Kings Speedway a preferred destination for USAC race fans and participants."

Robby Flock won USAC's inaugural race at Kings, in 1986, and the 65 total USAC races held there in the past 23 years have produced 38 different winners. Monte Faccinto is the winningest USAC driver in track history, with seven wins, compared to Billy Boat's six.
