.25 MIDGET “ROUND 7” MOVED TO XENIA THIS WEEKEND!
Inclement weather forecasts which forced cancellation of this weekend’s USAC Mopar National Midget races near St. Louis, Mo. have also resulted in movement of this weekend’s Round 7 of the USAC .25 Midget “Generation Next Tour” event from Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill. to Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio.
Hosted by the Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Association, the timetable of events at Kik-Kare will mirror those originally announced for Gateway.
“We certainly appreciate the Miami Valley club for being ready to step forward to host this event on last-minute notice,” says USAC Developmental Series Director James Spink. “We are disappointed in the fact that weather has precluded the Gateway appearance but look forward to returning to the spectacular Gateway facility in the near future.”
Friday will serve as a load-in day for race trailers, although the race track will not be open practice.
Sign-in and pill draws are scheduled from 8-9 am Saturday, followed by the mandatory driver/handler’s meeting at 9:15. Practice commences at 9:30, followed by racing in Junior, Senior and Heavy Honda, Light and Heavy 160 and Briggs Animal classes. Victory lane ceremonies follow.
Sunday’s timetable is the same as Saturday, with racing involving Deco, World Formula, Half, Rookies and Briggs Animal classes.
Kik-Kare Speedway is located off the Dayton-Xenia Road, just north of U.S. Route 35, west of Xenia.
The 2009 USAC .25 “Generation Next Tour” is scheduled to conclude the weekend of October 17-18 with make-up events from the September 20 Columbus, Ohio rain-out
