CHARITY RACING MEMORABILIA AUCTION BEGINS IN MEMORY OF FRED FROST

Speedway, Indiana (May 12, 2022)………An online auction featuring racing memorabilia from the collection of Fred Frost is now live at https://racercollect.com/charity-garage-216.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction will go directly to the USAC Benevolent Foundation.  The benevolent foundation was founded in 1959 with the purpose of meeting both short and long-term needs of auto racing families

Examples of the benevolent foundations tasks include assisting those with disabilities who find themselves with overwhelming financial debt, providing equipment and resources to ease daily struggles, and, sadly, helping with funeral expenses.

The USAC Benevolent Foundation’s mission statement is to provide financial assistance to injured or needy auto racing participants and their families with ties to the United States Auto Club or INDYCAR.

Fred Frost, an Ohio native and longtime observer for USAC, and one of its original members since the club’s formation in 1956, passed away on January 13, 2021, at the age of 85 years old.

Fred and his wife, Veronica, were mainstays on the USAC circuit for many years, as race fans first and foremost, but also encompassed race day duties.  Their friendly presence served as a welcome sight to drivers, teams and officials for the past several decades.

Fred had several passions, the primary one being open wheel auto racing. He attended 75 consecutive Indianapolis 500s in his lifetime.  He was a track observer for 22 years and was a proud member of the Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers Club, as is Veronica. Fred and Veronica were also observers for the United States Auto Club. Fred was a member of USAC from its initial formation in 1956. Since he married a fellow race fan, they continued the tradition of chasing race cars all over the country.
