SCHUDY GOES BACK TO BACK IN WILD USAC MWRA FEATURE AT CENTRAL MISSOURI

Warrensburg, Missouri (June 19, 2021)………Saturday night at Central Missouri Speedway, Kory Schudy once again parked it in victory lane for the second week in a row in USAC Wholesale Batteries Midwest Wingless Racing Association Sprint Car competition.
Schudy snapped a five-race streak of different winners in MWRA, but in a race that best defined the term “It ain’t over till it’s over,” this one certainly was not until the checkered flag flew in the 25-lapper.
In the feature event, a wild flurry during a green, white, checker finish had the driver from Battlefield, Mo. besting Quinton Benson of Sweet Springs, Mo., Wesley Smith of Nixa, Mo., Tom Curran of Kansas City, Mo. and Xavier Doney of Odessa, Mo. for an all Show-Me-State top-five.
Schudy, driving the JSR Racing #28, won this one after passing first Smith, running the Helm/WSR Racing #12 for second, and then leader Benson in his #15B during the final lap.
For Benson and Smith, the finish left them on the podium after both running great races, but not with the desired outcome.
“Q,” searching for his first ever USAC feature win with the MWRA, had a great final restart, executing a slide job going into one that gave him the lead over Smith before being passed on the final lap by Schudy while Smith drove a masterful race, leading all the way running the cushion primarily, until that final last flurry.
For 4th place Tom Curran, it was another great result for the second year sprint car racer as he advanced from 14th to 4th in his #11x machine to win the Hard Charger award while Xavier Doney came from 13th to finish in 5th place.
Earlier in the evening, Schudy, Topeka, Kansas’ Wyatt Burks, Overland Park, Kansas racer Luke Howard, and Lone Jack, Missouri’s Jack Wagner took heat race wins while Jason Billups from Holt, Mo. won the semi to advance to the feature over Chris Parkinson, Robert Black, Chad Tye, Heath Murry and Blake Bowers.
The USAC Midwest Wingless Racing Association will run again next Saturday night, June 26, at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas, for race number 7 of the 2021 season.
